Harry Potter night

Wembrook Primary School was transformed into Hogwarts recently for a special Harry Potter themed evening.

This was held to develop children's literacy skills and in particular their use of imagination.

Children were involved in preparing food for the Hogwarts banquet and enjoyed delicious goodies such as golden snitch cake pops, cat and bat shortbread as well as Polyjuice Potion smoothies.

Mrs Chard led the sorting hat ceremony and the hat decided our fate by assigning us to either Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or RavRavenclaw.

During the evening we attended a potion making workshop. It was great fun experimenting with all of the unusual ingredients, especially the gillyweed. It was just like the films when one of the potions exploded!

We also had a lesson in wand making, using sticks and mod-roc. We then painted them with metallic paints to add some magic!
