Year 4 Sci-Fi day

Children at Wembrook Primary School celebrated the end of a fantastic Sci-fi topic with a galactic array of events. The Year 4 children came to school dressed as aliens, space cadets, astronauts and a range of Star Wars and Star Trek characters.

Throughout the autumn term, children have written poems, stories and facts about their sci-fi topic, as well as learning about space. To end their learning with a big bang, the Year 4 children at the Avenue Road school had a finale to reward all of their hard work. On this unearthly day, the children carried out science with a space twist, made sci-fi movies using iPads, baked delicious treats fit for an alien and rocketed through space arts and crafts.

Many children have commented on how exciting this topic has been and how much they have learnt. During this topic, children also had the opportunity to have the National Space Centre visit school and share with the children information about the stars, galaxies and planets.
